A. Vogel Passiflora Complex is a combination Passiflora incarnata and Avena sativa (the fresh young seeds of oats) and is often recommended for individuals who suffer from the ill effects of anxiety caused by a generally nervous disposition. Avena Sativa is said to have a calming effect on the nervous system and as such, this tincture may also be used as an insomnia remedy.
Alfred Vogel was a native of the Americas and wrote about seeing the Passion flower for the first time in Mexico and Brazil. He declared it a decidedly ‘showy flower’ and proceeded to learn its uses from native tribes. Ostensibly, the plant was first introduced as a garden adornment in 17th century Europe, only coming to the attention of naturopaths around 100 years ago.
It is recommended that pregnant and lactating women seek advice from their physicians before using this tincture for anxiety relief. This health supplement is best kept out of the reach of young children and should ideally be stored in a cool, dry environment.
