This natural digestive supplement contains herbal extracts that may help to normalise the digestive system and tone the digestive tract. Slippery Elm acts as a buffer on the mucous membranes within the intestines, protecting against irritation from foods and assisting the passage of food. It also supports healing within the gastrointestinal tract. Slippery Elm has been recorded as being traditionally used for its digestive benefits.
This product also contains marshmallow and rice extract. Marshmallow is renowned for its soothing and healing properties, particularly on the delicate epithelial tissues that make up the intestinal tract. Rice extract provides gamma oryzanol, which may have a beneficial toning effect on the stomach, as well as encourage the stimulation of gastrin secretion. The gamma oryzanol also has an antioxidant activity.
This product should be taken three times daily with a glass of water, at least 20 minutes before meals. It is suitable for use by vegetarians and vegans. Slippery Elm powder and Marshmallow root extract (as contained in these capsules) are often included in food recipes due to their flavoursome benefits.
